Who’s Next?

When at work, days just pass by and by. As usual we meet our colleagues, greet and proceed with our daily share of priority. Although the greet is often formal, it at least brings a smile on the face. You sit in a place which is not totally yours. The boss in the cabin is now the principal who eyes on your quantity and quality of work. The acquaintances are your supposed friends and the personal calls you make from your place of work are in whispers (even if the company pays the bill.)

The cheerfulness is only within the circle of few acquaintances that you are with. You sneeze they say ‘God bless’, your palms on your forehead they might say ‘What’s wrong’, you leave in a huff they say, ‘Take Care’. We carry forward this daily. Very few among us realize the importance of kind words especially at work place.

Until one day, one among them casually says before leaving, ‘Hey, by the way tomorrows my last day. I got something better’. Its then when you realize the absence might affect you. Perhaps not in a major way because in a corporate world there’s often ‘Who’s next?’ But yeah for few it’s the absence which affects no matter even if it’s for a while. Whatever it is, the day and the tenure of the person having last working day often ends with a smile. The Byes are polite, there is slight tear like lashes, and the team feels sad there is hope of getting back together over cupcakes and tea in the circle to bid the person with farewell. That day even ‘See ya’ hurts.

The person leaves promising to meet soon. The miss u sounds authentic. Few even tend to see the person till it passes far from the corridor. And often the rest of the gang proceeding with the work either get nostalgic or think how would the ‘Next some one’ be Compassionate or Coarse.

A Successful Failure

Failure for him started when he was just 13years old. Repeating standard 8 again was surprising for him but not a shock for his family. Perhaps they were prepared. He took it as a challenge and headed towards giving the tests again. Promotion to standard 9 was a moment of contentment. But it hardly lasted. Repeating the same class was still destined. And then it was promotion to standard 10. The class for which everyone prepares themselves, as though they are entering into a den. The world war, group C and group D sums, test- tubes and chemical formulas all made him realize in the beginning itself that first attempt won’t be enough. It was time for a second chance. However, the second chance didn’t prove lucky too this time. Nevertheless, repeating a class again and again was now a custom for him. Fortunately for him his brother who was 6 years younger to him had reached the same class (10) while he was busy repeating his same divisions. He would explain the geometrical theories, war answers scientific logic and would ask him to prepare thoroughly the group A and group B sums and quit the rest. Younger sibling’s efforts paid off. He finally passed his school. For his mother it was time for celebration but his father’s emotions were left unexpressed. Merely, to complete his junior college he took up commerce and just passed for he couldn’t have afford to waste more years. His friends were all ahead of time earning and doing well in their respective careers, and here he was way behind still besieged in completing his basic standards.

In the midst of his repeats all were oblivious about his thunderous mind. The witness of his dynamic thoughts and blaze like motivation was only to himself and he must not have even thought to be answerable to anyone. Certain secrets were left only to him. In standard five the money provided by his mom for evening snack was utilized for the said purpose but, not entirely. Some amount was saved for his wish of a watch which he had eyed on then. The savings grew on so did his mind. With three years of stash he sold speakers with huge profits. And the profits paved the way for him to fulfill his wish. Yes he purchased the watch. Possibly, that was his VISION to see himself wearing the same exactly three years from then.

Post his junior college the struggle for identity continued he did his diploma along with his commerce graduation. He simply went ahead but not with the flows, in fact where he wanted to. In the torrential rains of 26th July in Mumbai everyone were praying to be back home but here he was going back to office from home. May be hard work was in his genes. May be work was his passion and today he is a brand in the field of technology. The work which he was passionate about made him reach his destination and his hard work got him reap of it. At the moment his brand value is so much that the Japanese require him. No surprises that from past three years he is being welcomed by his close ones straight from Tokyo. The love for this 6feet2.4 inch guy grows within every ones heart who knows him because he is still that tall, sleek guy who could only spread love while having a vision in his failure.

(The above instance is a true story dedicated to those who give up on life for mere reason of academics.)

Feat over Fear

With the advent of New Year, the eve got with itself new hopes new aspirations. Yet, for few it must have been another new year of old fears. How frivolous the fears may be, it merely retains in mind. Occasions come where forgetfulness of such properties of fear makes one think of metamorphosis of oneself but suddenly with strong cold breeze touching ones forehead sometimes remind of those same forgetful things and thoughts of the past which was aspired to be forgotten. Then there is another shield of downbeat and unhelpful aura coming and going across the walls and creating the ambience of unconstructive and paranoid mood. Try explaining oneself a hundred times the mind has its own say and heart tends to follow what mind command, Enforcing to commit those mistakes of which repercussions are very well known. Phobias are such which tends to overpower ones strengths, support and sociable attitude resulting in solitary.

Nevertheless, the power is within. Fear is a part of human nature and that is why it exists. One cannot totally refrain oneself from it but with growth in thoughts and understanding can overcome it bit by bit. One needs to take care of oneself not because of the ongoing competency but for sheer will of loving oneself. The bit will certainly turn into a patch one day and no phobia will have the audacity to take over. One will be free of paranoid thoughts, unease mind and wedged body. Body, mind and spirit will embrace each other for a new boot of thought. The flowing breeze will now touch the forehead for liberating us from the vicious circle of sordid thoughts and welcoming the perfect feel for a beautiful life. Race and competency will be on its way but one will live the life of its own and keep the external influence on ablaze. There may be times when the past will stand like a mirror in front but one is still in bits to make the patch. It takes a little time but will carry the flame of hope all through. The walls will be clear of any unwanted ambience and the positive aura will take its place. Then there is no need to wait for a new year because each day will bring with itself new aspirations, new beliefs and new will!

Lost identity in glam shine!

FASHION TODAY is all about imitating and trying to impress others. Today, there are very few who significantly focus on retaining their original style, likes and dislikes. Individuals have entered a stage where enhancing one via someone else’s trend and calling oneself as “being original” has become a basic of human nature. On being caught, the word which surfaces on the horizon is “inspiration”. But what really matters is that if some one has the quality of setting an in-build trend and (by any chance) it doesn’t go well with others then why the general term used is “fashion-mistake” . Be it accessories, colors, shades, variety of materials and even the right kind of attitude is supposed to be worn well.

When we say life is all about us and we should believe in our perspective then does that perception means adopting someone else’s idea and blindly following it? Or rather this is basic idea behind an individual’s perception. Because following someone else becomes the easy way out rather than constructing ones own way, as it’s a challenge. The term fashion-mistakes are common in the glamorous industry. Where a celebrity is seen, keenly observed, critically analyzed and finally rated on the scale of 1-10. But then the most frivolous part is the critics who rate them are they actually qualified to do that? And by chance if there is any celebrity who co-incidentally turns out to be perfect then they are often termed as plastic.

So the point arises, are we habituated, looking out for fashion mistakes or we hunt to criticize for something or the other?

Every season brings with itself variety of colors, shades plentiful accessories cloth-materials and trends. However, what makes an individual outstanding is its personal choice and following of its own creativity.
There may be a day where a person wants be a rock star, someday glamorous, someday hippy and even other day simple but the matter of this fact lies when an individual implements on following up its own wish list. There is always a room for exposure and improvement as sitting on the fence is not the right option.

One can always try on simple modification in ones wardrobe, as “experiment is the mother of all invention," and who knows one just might be a trend setter by itself. Fashion fiesta is only celebrated with those who make their separate way by mere trying out on innumerable patterns, materials, shades and style. But certainly the most vital aspect is to venture as it will only add to your strength of credibility. This comes to understanding that following ones creativity doesn’t leads to any mistakes, because it’s only about experimentation. Let the criticism be made because as someone has rightly said that, “Good spirits always face opposition from mediocre minds.”
